DIAKI Experiences
Stéphane served the Canadian Armed Forces for 35 years before retiring in 2022. He had the opportunity to command at all levels, sub-unit, unit and formation. The latter was as Commander 2nd Canadian Division Support Group, essentially the Base Commander for all Canadian Army installation in the Province of Québec.
Operationally, Stéphane deployed numerous times at home and abroad. In Canada, Stéphane conducted Avalanche Control operations in Rogers Pass, BC and in Blanc Sablon, QC. He also deployed in support of floods twice in Québec. Overseas, he served twice in Former-Yugoslavia, and 10 months in Afghanistan.
Throughout my career, my subordinates and my family were my priority. I learned that leadership of the various teams required trust and that trust is based on communication. I am proud of all that I accomplished while serving alongside my wife, a logistics officer, and raising four boys of which three currently serve in the CAF.
